Houston Criminal Defense Attorney Betsy Stukes – an associate at Billy Skinner & Associates – recently joined the Houston Bar Association (HBA). Founded in 1870, the Houston Bar Association is a not-for-profit professional organization with nearly 11,500 members. It is now the fifth largest metropolitan bar association in the nation. The HBA connects legal professionals throughout the region and provides valuable resources that include ongoing education, professional development, and service programs for both the legal and local communities. The Association also aims to uphold the Constitution of the United States and the State of Texas through valuing the judicial system and the importance of civic and ethical responsibilities.
A committed criminal lawyer passionate about protecting the rights of accused individuals, Attorney Stukes’ membership with the Houston Bar Association is sure to benefit the support and representation she provides to Billy Skinner & Associates’ clients. Before joining the firm, Ms. Stukes had demonstrated a penchant for self-improvement by participating in numerous law clinics, serving as the Chief Articles Editor for the American Journal of Criminal Law, and interning with the Texas Defender Service, Charleston County Public Defender, and Harris County Public Defender. As membership in the Houston Bar Association is voluntary, her willingness to continually improve and hone her professional abilities falls in line with our firm’s mission for providing the best possible service and the most favorable results.
